Second Week of HTML 2008

January 7, 2008

Today I will hold off making the requested blog due to too many uncertainties to describe them in detail. Tomorrow my mind should be clearer after tonight’s lesson at Stanton.

Advancing means more of the same HTML

January 5, 2008

Our next exercise was the building of a website with the tools available in the caverns of the computer. Not an easy task for me! Since it is my second time around to learn these maneuvers it compelled me to take much more detailed notes in class. Believe it or not, less than one year ago I had the good fortune to create a pictorial website. And now I am adding a corresponding blogging pane to it. Yes,I am very proud of this accomplishment considering my seniority!
No pun intended!

HTML is my new area of computer learning.

January 5, 2008

It is in the early days of January in 2008 that I entered this content-packed hands-on training at the Stanton Community Center.

The signs in HTML are totally new to me but our tutor wrote a great deal on the blackboard and explained the markup language in considerable details. I had seen a multitude of these tags on my home computer without any grasp to make much sense out of it. Now it gave me a clearer understanding.

Unfortunately I need to see it more than once to commit it to my memory. Therefore the teaching is extended to some eight nearly 2 hour long classes.

Next day we will have a opportunity to learn the initial phase of individual blogging.

The next time around …

January 4, 2008

I have decided to take this course over again and find I must again give my thoughts on each of the class sessions.

Addition to Sans Souci

January 4, 2008

Many years ago I left my native country of Germany and arrived  at the shores of the Chesapeake Bay ,the Free State  of Maryland.  Here I spend many years serving  suffering mankind until recent retirement.

Fiedler’s found a homestead, raised the children and called this  venue “Sans Souci”in the hope of  cruising through the Golden Age with the least of worries.  Here we enjoy the freedom from the commitments of bygone decades, and now we spend our days with diverse readings, cultural activities and hobbies such as gardening, fishing and crabbing . On few occasions   we even cruise  the mighty  oceans of our globe.

Midway through the brand new territory of lectures of HTML.

January 4, 2008

It is another challenging book of knowledge to study the marks and/or symbols of HTML . Initially it is quite strange that the built-in wisdom is transforming these tags in an orderly transcript of traditional legible writing.

It was only yesterday that we also had to return to a repetition of the sequential clickings in order to get our last assignment ready. Chuck was helpful in showing me again all required steps.

At times this tutor assumed too much! My capacity of grasping  the new material or just any new stuff is limited and requires simply more exercises. Since I am the owner of a brand new HP computer, it gives me an  opportunity of uninterrupted  practice. Repetitio est mater studiorum , i.e. repetition is the mother of all knowledge!

The Termination of our Training Course comes too early!

April 24, 2007

Despite so many unsuccessful hours devoted to the study of computer techniques I am still hopeful to continue with another in the near future!  After a short interval of PC studies Ientered into a tech course thst gave me more insight and understanding with the same tutor.

Each lesson another surprise.

April 19, 2007

After three trying attempts in the chapter of building a website and studying the basic elements of blogging we made brief remarks i.e. postings to share my lack of catching on in locating the scattered areas of touch-down ,also called clickings spots.

Only with repeated help was I able to live up to the exspected homework of daily assignment.Unfortunatly this troube was and remains a handicap of my brand new Microsoft Windows Vista.Somehow it seems to be related to “cookies ” and has to be discussed with the Verizon Technical Section. Hopefully, this glitch is removed before my training course has come to the end!? Lets say a prayer.

This is my first blog.

April 17, 2007

My true efforts in establishing this blog was only possible with an amazingly gifted tutor of many years training and perhaps nearly as many decades of exposure to neophytes in cyberspace.

Today we were exposed to a better understanding of the universe of blogging, and received a better grasp of the different terms of the INTERNET and my homepage and the availability of sharing my new experience with classmates and the mentor. He encouraged me to express some frustration and confusion . Patience is of utmost importance in wading through this new territory. However, the last half of today’s lesson was another amazing and puzzling exposure to computer technique that I was unable to fully grasp.

Hello world!

This is the start of the rest of my life …
